Attempting the first solo, unsupported cycle to the South Pole

James Benson-King is an endurance explorer preparing to attempt the first solo, unsupported cycle to the South Pole.

Having cycled over 30,000 km across the Americas, completed some of the worlds hardest ultras and set a Guinness World Record in India, his work now focuses on pushing human limits in the most extreme environments on Earth.

Through expeditions, storytelling, and speaking, James explores the realities of resilience, discipline, and performance when failure is not an option.

PEDAL THE IMPOSSIBLE
Antarctica 2026

In November 2026, James will attempt to become the first person to cycle solo and unsupported to the South Pole.
A two month journey across Antarctica, carrying everything required to survive, in temperatures below -30°C and with no support or resupplies along the way.
One person riding, alone on the ice, moving forward one day at a time.
